MAUI, Hawaii - Maryland will face host Chaminade in the first round of the 2009 EA Sports Maui Invitational basketball tournament on Monday, Nov. 23, tournament officials announced Tuesday when the full bracket was released.

The Terrapins, who reached the NCAA second round last season and posted a 21-14 record, will play in the third of four first-round games in the tournament. Maryland is in the same half of the bracket with Cincinnati and Vanderbilt.

The other four teams in the tournament, to be played at the Lahaina Civic Center on Nov. 23 to 25, are Colorado, Gonzaga, Arizona and Wisconsin.

Maryland previously played in the Maui Invitational in 1994, 2000 and 2005. The Terps finished third in 2005 after beating Arkansas in the third-place game. Maryland has faced the Silverswords twice in the tournament, winning a first-round game in 1994, 95-67, and winning a consolation semifinal, 98-69, in 2005.
