LANDOVER, Md. - Multi-athlete Kiani Profit and the women's track and field team took top honors at the Maryland Invitational this Saturday. The men's program, led by Dwight Barbiasz, finished second.

Profit placed first overall in the 60-meter hurdles and recorded a personal best 8.60, which is ECAC qualifying and the fifth-best mark in Maryland history. The junior also placed first in the women's high jump with a score of 5-6, which ties her for fifth on Maryland's all-time high jump list. Joined by teammates Arielle Statham, Melony McKay and Taylor Bumpas, Profit ended her day with a first place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. The time of 3:51.38 qualified the relay team for the ECAC.

Sophomore Dwight Barbiasz picked up right where he left off last season by winning the men's high jump with a mark of 7-2.5, granting him a new personal record and the third-best mark in Maryland history. Barbiasz received a provisional NCAA qualifying mark for his effort.

The Terrapins set the tone early with the distance medley relays, as both programs placed in the top five. Led by Josh Finkle, the men's squad placed second with a mark of 10:48.26 behind Norfolk State, while Owoade Ayorinde and the women placed fifth with a time of 12:41.50.

In the men's 60-meter hurdles, Zach Ray and Legonn Haskins scored times of 8.29 and 8.31 respectively, earning the duo second and third place honors. Ray scored an IC4A qualifying mark of 23-10.25 in the men's long jump, placing him second overall in the event. Stewart also placed fourth overall in the long jump with a mark of 22-7.75.

In the men's 800-meter run, Tommy Friscia finished second overall and less than half of a second out of first, but still recorded an IC4A qualifying mark of 1:54.55.

The Maryland women provided some vital scoring in the 60-meter dash and the one-mile run, as three Terps were represented in the top five of each event. Alexis Booker, Arielle Statham and Heidi Paul crossed the finish line second through fourth in the 60, while Kerry Nisson, Christy Goldmann and Anna Roth took third through fifth in the mile.

Senior Tolulope Olugbemi led all women in the 400 with a mark of 58.57, followed by senior Natalie Goodman in third with 59.84.
