Final Stats

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Despite a poor shooting night, Maryland was within reach of extending its winning streak to five games, but Clemson hit key buckets down the stretch to earn a 62-53 win Sunday night.

Trevor Booker shook off missing his first 12 shots to score nine of his 10 points in the final 7:03 as Clemson broke a three-game losing streak.

Booker was the Atlantic Coast Conference's field-goal percentage leader last season, but could not find the basket for most of this one. He came through, though, when the Tigers (16-6, 4-4 ACC) needed it most.

Booker tied it at 48-all on a short jumper, then put Clemson up for good, 52-50, with two foul shots.

Maryland was led by Jordan Williams who had team highs of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Eric Hayes scored 11 points and Greivis Vasquez added 10, but he was just 3-for-11 from the field.

Trailing by as many as 11 in the second half, the Terps rallied to take their only lead of the game (48-46) on a Hayes jumper with 8:20 to go. He also hit a 3-pointer at 4:06 to close the gap to 54-53, but Maryland got no closer.

Jerai Grant had a career high 18 points along with 10 rebounds for the Tigers. Booker had 16 boards.

The Terps shot just 35 percent from the field, but held the Tigers to 32 percent.
