Juniors Kristen Batts and Halsey Sinclair represented the University of Maryland at the 2010 Eastern College Athletics Conference Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Princeton University on Friday. The three-day competition concludes Sunday May 16, 2010.
Batts, of Malboro, N.J., earned Maryland its first points of the competition with a third-place finish in the discus throw. The star junior's throw of 152-09 produced five points for Maryland overall.
On the track, Halsey Sinclair competed in the 10,000-meter run. The Silver Spring-native earned 21st place with her mark of 39:09.50.
The Terrapins unleash a group of eager runners, throwers and relay teams tomorrow, including All-American Kiani Profit, who will look for top-three finishes in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles and high jump. Action resumes at 9:00 a.m. Live results are available at www.lancertiming.com.
