POSITION TITLE: Director of Operations for Women's Basketball

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is among the most comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and is located on a beautiful campus located eight miles north of the nation's capital and near Columbia, Maryland, which was recently listed as the #4 “Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine. The Athletic Program has won 20 national championships over the last 16 years and is a charter member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Currently, 92 of the University's academic programs are in their respective Top 25 nationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Head Coach for Women's Basketball with the organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive, Division I intercollegiate program. Specific responsibilities include coordinating team and recruiting travel and logistics; assisting with monitoring operating and scholarship budget expenditures; assisting with the academic development of student-athletes; assisting with scheduling practices and games; coordinating the use of facilities; assisting the equipment manager with ordering, issuing, and collecting athletic equipment; arranging special events, including fundraising; developing and coordinating community outreach programs; and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Must have at least 2 years experience working in basketball operations, preferably at the Division I level and/or coaching experience at the High School, Junior College or Division II and Division III level. Demonstrated ability in organizational and computer skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
