Game Notes 

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland softball team will open its 2011 season Friday at the Red & Black Showcase, which is hosted by No. 3 Georgia in Athens, Ga. The Terrapins will play five games in three days, beginning Friday afternoon and ending Sunday. Gametracker live stats will be available for all five games.
The Terps' first game of the weekend will be against Iowa Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
NOTE: The Terps' game against No. 3 Georgia has been moved to Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Terrapins' remaining three opponents on the weekend, Illinois State, Lipscomb and East Carolina, were all 2010 NCAA Regionals team. On Saturday, Maryland will play Illinois State at 5 p.m. and Lipscomb at 7 p.m. The Terps will close out the weekend with a game against East Carolina Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Terrapins earned an NCAA Regionals berth for the first time in over 10 years last season. For the first time in school history, NCAA Regionals were played at Robert E. Taylor Stadium. 14th-seeded Oklahoma, Big East champion Syracuse, and Fordham all came to College Park to compete.
Head coach Laura Watten welcomed a new member to the coaching staff this year, pitching coach Angela Tincher, who was the 2008 USA Softball National Player of the Year and three-time ACC Player of the Year.
