TAMPA, Fla. - Lexi Carroll's RBI-sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh enabled Maryland to post a thrilling 4-3 win over St. John's on Saturday at the Under Armour Showcase.

Caroll's bases-loaded fly ball to center field, which scored Bree Hanafin, came after St. John's Linzee Sumrall walked the first three batters of the inning.

The Red Storm (10-13) tied the game at 3-all in the top half of the seventh on Chrissy Montez's RBI-sacrifice fly.

Kerry McLaughlin, who went 1-for-2, had three RBIs, including a two-run single in the third which gave Maryland a 3-1 lead.

Freshman Ashley Czechner (6-1) picked up the win for Maryland with 5 2/3 innings of relief work. She gave up five hits and two earned runs.

Surrall (1-3) took the loss for St. John's after yielding six hits and four earned runs in 6 1/3 innings.

The Terps play St. Joesph's at 3 p.m. Saturday.
