CAMP HILL, Pa. -
The Maryland Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its second annual "Lift For Life" event Tuesday, July 12.
The fun-to-watch strength and conditioning competition begins at 3:30 p.m. and will feature members of the Terrapin football team.
"Lift For Life" will be held on the practice field adjacent to Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Admission is free and parking is available in Union Lane Garage (click here for a campus parking map).
The Maryland Chapter of Uplifting Athletes has chosen to help fight cystic fibrosis, a rare disease that affects near 30,000 Americans. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic rare disease that affects the lungs and digestive system by producing unusually thick mucus; the condition can clog the lungs and lead to a life-threatening lung infection and can obstruct the pancreas and stop natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
The chapter's goal is to donate any contributions made by spectators and fans at the event to the Boomer Esiason Foundation for cystic fibrosis research.
You can get involved by supporting the team and emailing friends and family about the upcoming event. Take action today to help people with diseases that are all too often forgotten.
