CHICAGO -
Three Terps alumni have been selected for the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team roster. Head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has added Clarence Goodson, Maurice Edu, and Graham Zusi to the roster. These three will join the team as they prepare for its final two matches of semifinal round qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Each player has been on the U.S. Roster at least once before for World Cup qualifying. Maurice Edu has appeared in all four qualifying games this round. Zusi, the youngest Terrapin of the three, currently leads the MLS with assists (15) and U.S. Coach Jurgen Klinsmann has taken notice of him.
"Over the last couple of camps he has become more confident," Klinsmann said via the U.S. Soccer website. "He's realizing that he can compete with all these guys. He has a great shot and he's technically very gifted."
The U.S. plays Antigua & Barbuda October 12th at 7 p.m. in Antigua and then Guatemala on October 16th at 7 p.m. in Kansas City.
