Maryland's Merkel Captures ACC Player of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Maryland junior midfielder Randy Merkel (Carol Stream, Ill.) was named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after leading the Terps to a 2-1 overtime victory over fourth-ranked Duke.

Merkel scored the game-winning goal at the 93-minute mark to lift the Terps to victory. He currently leads the team in assists with six and is second on the team in points with 10.
