Maryland's Cullen Announced as Missouri Athletic Club Finalist
ST. LOUIS, MO --
Maryland senior defender Leo Cullen has been named one of four male finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club Sports Foundation Collegiate Player of the Year award, presented by Nations Bank, it was announced Tuesday.
Also selected in balloting by coaches for the 12th annual men's award were senior forward Johnny Torres of Creighton, junior midfielder Lazo Alavanja of Indiana and senior midfielder Daniel Hernandez of SMU.
The prestigious crystal ball trophy will be presented to the winner during a dinner at the M.A.C. on January 9, 1998, which will feature Alexi Lalas as guest speaker and ABC-TV sportscaster Dan Dierdorf as emcee.
