Terps Drop Exhibition Match to St. John's

The No. 2 Maryland men's soccer team fell to St. John's in its last exhibition match of the 2013 campaign Saturday night at Ludwig Field.

After the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie in the first half, Danny Bedoya put the Red Storm on the board with a free kick from just outside the box in the 64th minute.  Adrian L'Esperance padded the lead to two with a goal to the upper 90 at 85:51.

Freshman Zack Steffen and redshirt freshman Cody Niedermeier split time in goal with each player surrendering one score.  The Terps tallied 10 shots on the day, including five from Patrick Mullins.

Maryland returns to action Friday when it heads to the West Coast for a match at Stanford.
