The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing the biweekly payroll for all categories of employees within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics; creating, processing and monitoring new, change and termination appointments in PHR; updating salaries/hourly rates at the start of the new fiscal year; processing new hires, terminations, pay rate changes throughout the year; processing increases and calculations of back pay; updating and maintaining leave records, tracking end-of contract dates, approvals, renewals and provisions within contracts; updating employee information for ICA electronic directories and organizational charts; preparing onboarding packet for new employees; completing exit list to gather ICA items from departing employees and scheduling exit interviews with the Director of Staff Relations in ICA; assisting with other Human Resources processes, to include but not limited to, eTerp2 employment actions, coordination of searches, correspondence with new hires, employment contracts, employee training and development opportunities, PRD documentation; keeping and maintaining the official personnel records according to rules and regulations of the University, preparing various staffing and financial reports as requested, and performing other duties as assigned. The Payroll Coordinator must cultivate employee confidence, protect payroll operations, keep information secure and maintain a strict confidentiality for the Human Resources actions within ICA.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three years of experience in a combination of payroll, human resources, accounting, budgeting and administrative staff work. Experience using the university's software such as PHR, ARES, Elf, eTerp and WOW reporting software is preferred.
