Eticha Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

CHICAGO - Mikias Eticha was tagged Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his work in Maryland's win over No. 17 Coastal Carolina Monday night, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Eticha, a senior midfielder from Falls Church, Va., scored the game winning goal in the Terps' 3-2 victory over the Chanticleers in front of a Ludwig Field crowd of 4,695. Eticha added an assist, providing the helper for a Michael Sauers' tally to put the Terps up 2-1 early in the second half.

Indiana goalkeeper Colin Webb garnered top defensive honors.

It is Maryland's first POTW honor as a member of the Big Ten.  The Terps welcome UMBC Friday night for Crew Appreciation Night at Ludwig Field. The match will be shown live as the NSCAA National Game of the Week.
