COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After dropping game one, the Old Liners outscored the Aggies 11-1 over the final two games to win Maryland's Fall World Series this weekend. Games one and two were played at Gallaudet before game three at Harford County Community College.
Games were played off campus due to the on going renovations to Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium.
Game One
Junior Mike Shawaryn struck out six over five innings and did not allow an earned run while sophomore Kevin Smith reached based four times in the Aggies 6-1 victory over the Old Liners Thursday.
The Aggies took the lead early and didn't look back, receiving standout performances from freshman Marty Costes and junior Madison Nickens.
After an uneventful opening frame, sophomore Justin Morris blasted a solo homer in the second to pu the Aggies in front off Old Liners starter freshman John Murphy.
Costes blew the game open in the fourth. After Peyton Sorrels singled and Dan Maynard walked, Costes smacked a three-run home run to make it 4-1 after four.
Shawaryn led a spectacular pitching performance from the Aggies who scattered just three hits with four pitchers. Freshman Zach Guth and sophomore Andrew Green combined to allow no hits in 2 and 2/3 before junior Mike Rescigno shut the door with a couple of strikeouts over 1 and 1/3.
Costes finished two-for-three with a walk and three RBIS while Smith sprayed three singles, walked once and scored a run. Nickens reached base twice and stole a couple of bases.

Both teams had chances in the opening inning. The Old Liners loaded the bases with three walks before freshman AJ Lee struck out to end the threat. Freshman Nick Dunn and Morris put together back-to-back singles in the first, but Maynard struck out to strand two.
The Aggies were once again in business in the second with two-out singles from Sorrels and Costes, but Nickens grounded out to close the inning. An eventful third for the Old Liners saw redshirt freshman Andrew Bechtold double before a Nick Cieri single and a Papio walk to load the bases with one out. Sophomore Jamal Wade then struck out before Lee flied out to left.
The Old Liners took the lead for good in the sixth. Biondic smacked a double before Jancarski singles to put runners on the corners. Kawahara then executed a perfect suicide squeeze to put the Old Liners on the board.
Papio hit a solo homer in the seventh to extend the lead to 3-0. The senior was one-for-one with three walks in the contest. Cieri finished with a double and a single while sophomore Andrew Bechtold reached base on three occasions.
