Terps Travel to Florida, Princeton This Weekend

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland track and field team will split up to compete in both the Princeton Invitational at Princeton University and Florida Relays at the University of Florida.

Coming off of a strong performance at the Maryland Invitational, the Terps look to continue their success at their respective meets. High jumpers Amber Melville and Thea LaFond will travel to Florida.

Melville won the high jump at the Maryland Invitational with a 5'9 3/4” jump and LaFond did not see competition in order to prepare for the Florida meet.

The Terps dominated the running events and hope to do the same at Princeton, including Charde' Barnes who took first place in the 3000m steeplechase at home last week.

Following an impressive performance at the UTEP Invitational, senior Pat Cole won the hammer throw with a mark of 186'01”. Cole will travel to Princeton and hopes to continue his run of success.

Senior Myah Hicks will also travel to Florida after an impressive showing in the women's 1500m run. She will compete in the 800m this weekend.

After competing in the respective meets, the Terps will come back together to participate in the Morgan State Legacy Meet on Friday, Apr. 17.
