COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland softball team looks to close out the regular season on a high note as they travel to East Lansing, Mich., to face the Michigan State Spartans for a three game series.
The Terps (26-24, 8-12 Big Ten) are coming off a weekend series against conference foe Michigan. The team battled, ultimately dropping the series. Senior Shannon Bustillos blasted a solo home run in the middle game against the Wolverines, tying the all-time Maryland home run record. She now sits knotted at first with 27 with Lindsey Schmeiser and Beth Radford.

Team Sets Home Run Record
- In the second game of the double-header against Rutgers, Corey Schwartz hit a two-run home run, her 12th of the season.
- The long ball represented the team's 60th of the season, setting a new single-season team home run record. Currently the team has 63 home runs. The previous record was 59 set in 2009.
Schmeiser Sets Doubles Record
- In the middle game of the series against Michigan, L. Schmeiser hit a two-out double in the fifth inning, her twentieth of the season, breaking the Maryland single-season doubles record, as the Maryland softball team fell to #4 Michigan, 10-2. The accolade was previously held by Michelle Burrell with 19 in 2001.
- The junior has collected a hit in 40 of 47 games this season and was recently on a 23-game hit streak that extended from a March 8th matchup with Stony Brook to an April 21st meeting with Rutgers.
Bustillos ties Home Run Record
- In the middle game of the series against Michigan, catcher Shannon Bustillos blasted a solo home run to center field, her ninth of the season. That shot moved her tied for first on the all-time home run list with 27.
- She currently sits tied with teammate Lindsey Schmeiser and Beth Radford.

- Twice this season, the Terps have overcome a 10-run deficit to win the game. In addition, the team has made multiple come from behind victories of smaller margins.
- Maryland overcame a 12-2 deficit in the first game of the Iowa series to defeat the Hawkeye, 15-14. The victory marked the Terps first-ever Big Ten victory.
- The Terps came back from a 10-2 deficit in the first game of the Ohio State series to win the game 11-10. Corey Schwartz blasted a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.
- Maryland has comeback to win a game in the seventh inning eight times this season. Six have been walk-off wins, while two have been on the road.
