Terps Announce 2015 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md.  – After winning both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles in their inaugural season in the conference in 2014, head coach Sasho Cirovski and the Maryland men's soccer program are set to embark on another challenging schedule in 2015 – a slate that includes 10 teams which competed in last season's NCAA Tournament.

“I am extremely excited to announce our 2015 schedule,” Cirovski said. “Every game will be a difficult challenge as every team on our schedule is a potential NCAA tournament team. That is exactly the type of opposition our players, alumni and fans expect to see. Our away schedule is daunting and our home slate is mouthwatering. Our fans are in for a treat with high quality college soccer.”

Following a trio of exhibitions against Loyola, Bucknell and Providence, the Terps head to Bloomington, Ind., where they will face off against Notre Dame and St. John's in the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic on Aug. 28 and Aug. 30, respectively.

Maryland will host UCLA in its home opener on Sept. 4 before welcoming Akron on Sept. 7. The Terps kick off Big Ten play when they welcome Michigan on Sept. 11.

Navy will make the short voyage to College Park on Sept. 14 before the Terps begin a three-game road trip which includes stops at Michigan State (Sept. 18), Georgetown (Sept. 23) and Wisconsin (Sept. 27).

Maryland will play five home games in the month of October, including matches vs. Northwestern (Oct. 2), Villanova (Oct. 5), Indiana (Oct. 16), Delaware (Oct. 20) and Washington (Oct. 23). The Terps also have a pair of Big Ten road tilts when they head to Penn State on Oct. 9 and Ohio State on Oct. 31.

The Terps wrap up the regular season with a game against Rutgers at Ludwig on Nov. 4 before their quest for a fourth-consecutive conference tournament title begins with Big Ten Tournament action Nov. 7-15.

“Our returning group is highly motivated with the challenge of making a deeper run in the NCAA tournament as well as continuing our first year success in the B1G,” Cirovski said. “They will be joined by a very talented class of newcomers that are both humble and hungry to add more glory to Maryland Soccer. I can't wait to get them all together and begin our 2015 journey."
