Each week during the 2014-15 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is senior Shannon Bustillos of the softball team. 

COLLEGE PARK, Md.—Two games after breaking the all-time Maryland home run record, Shannon Bustillos smack a three-run home run to break the all-time Maryland RBI record. The Maryland softball senior has quickly acended to the most decorated hitter in program history after breaking two long-standing program records in the past weekend's series against Michigan State.

In the first game of the series against the Spartans, the Anaheim, Calif. native smacked a solo home run, her tenth of the season and 28th of her career, breaking the all-time Maryland home run record. The blast also tied the senior for first on the all-time RBI list with 148. Bustillos broke Beth Radford's 13-year record of 27.

Two games later in the regular season finale against Michigan State, Bustillos mailed a three-run home run home run to right center, collecting her 149th, 150th and 151st career RBI. With 151 RBI, Bustillos moves into sole possession of the all-time RBI record in Maryland history. She eclipses Lindsay Klein's eight-year record.

Over the series against MSU, Bustillos was fifth in batting average (.625), third in slugging percentage (1.500) and third in on-base percentage (.727) in the Big Ten this past weekend. Overall, the senior is hitting a stellar .410 with a .897 slugging percentage and 30 RBI this season.

The team heads to Columbus this week for the Big Ten Tournament. The Terps will face the ninth-seeded Penn State at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
