CHICAGO – Maryland freshman Amar Sejdic was named the Big Ten Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Sejdic, a midfielder from Louisville, Ky., scored the first two goals in a 4-0 rout of St. John's on Sunday in the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic in Bloomington, Ind.
The rookie also started and played valuable minutes in Maryland's scoreless draw against No. 4 Notre Dame on Friday.
For his efforts, Sejdic was named Most Valuable Offensive Player of the weekend as the Terps captured the tourney crown.
Maryland hosts No. 1 UCLA Friday night at Ludwig Field at 7 p.m. The match will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
