• Maryland (18-0-2) captured its fifth-straight conference tournament crown when it defeated No. 3 seed Wisconsin, 2-1, in the 2016 Big Ten Men's Soccer Championship last Sunday afternoon in Westfield, Ind. Senior defender Alex Crognale and sophomore forward Gordon Wild were named Big Ten Championship Defensive and Offensive Most Valuable Player, respectively, and joined senior goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier - who made seven saves in the championship game - on the all-tournament team.

• Four different players scored for Maryand in the semifinal and title match, including Gordon Wild, Amar Sejdic, D.J. Reeves and Sebastian Elney. The Terps are outscoring foes by a 49-19 margin this season.

• With an 11-0 record at Ludwig this season, Maryland wrapped up its first undefeated home slate since 2005 when it won the national championship. The Terps lead the nation in both average attendance (4,032) and total attendance (48,385).

• Maryland has not lost since falling to Ohio State in Columbus on Oct. 31, 2015 – a stretch of 25-straight matches. Sunday's title was the third consecutive for Maryland since it joined the Big Ten Conference in 2014. It is the longest streak for a Big Ten team since Indiana won six in a row from 1994-1999.

• The Terps are headed to the tournament for a 16th consecutive season. Maryland made back-to-back trips to the College Cup in 2012 and 2013 and last won the national championship in 2008. The program also won national titles in 2005 and 1968.
