Kocher, Harris Lead Terps in Round Two

RIO GRANDE, P.R. - The Maryland men's golf team improved its score by four strokes in the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic Monday at the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The Terrapins shot a 290 as a team in Sunday's first round, which was two over par. In Monday's second round, they took four strokes off to shoot a 290. They are now tied for eighth in the 15-team field and are even.

Sophomore David Kocher, who is ranked No. 18 in the nation, shot a 68, which was four-under par Monday. Combined with his 71 Sunday, he is tied for fifth in the standings with a 139, which is five-under par total.

Senior Tom Harris took a stroke off his Sunday score, shooting a 70 Monday to finish the day with a combined score of 141, which is three-under par total. He is tied for 11th on the leaderboard.

Freshman Timothy Colanta earned a 74 in Monday's second round, for a combined score of 145, which is one-over par. Freshman Reilly Erhardt took three strokes off his first score, earning a 74 Monday and a total score of 151. Junior Victor Fox shaved four strokes off of his score from Sunday, shooting a 77 Monday.
