Zaching Against Cancer Hosts Living the Dream Gala

BALTIMORE - The first Living the Dream Gala benefiting the Zaching Against Cancer Foundation took place at M&T Bank Stadium last weekend to honor Zach Lederer.

Lederer, a former men's basketball manager who inspired the Maryland community throughout his time with the program, passed away in March of 2014 at the age of 20 after a battle with brain cancer.

"The event was amazing. It was great to see so many people there in support and memory of Zach," said Benjamin Eidelberg, former student manager and current graduate assistant for the men's basketball team, said. "The foundation has come such a long way in since its inception and the event was a true reflection of the great things the Lederers and Zaching Aganist Cancer foundation have done, are doing, and will continue to do in the fight against cancer."

The Zaching Against Cancer Foundation was established to provide support for cancer patients through scholarships, internships and research.

The gala, which was hosted by the Voice of the Terrapins Johnny Holliday, had 400 people in attendance to enjoy food and live music, as well as live and silent auctions benefiting the foundation.
