COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland football team hit the field for its first spring practice under Head Coach DJ Durkin on Monday morning.
The Terps went through a fast-paced practice that included working on individual skills and special teams drills before moving on to multiple team periods.
"It was exciting to finally hit the field with our guys for the first time," said Durkin. "I'm proud of the effort they put into our winter workouts and now that must translate onto the practice field. We are learning to attack everything we do with max effort and energy and today's practice was no different. Of course there's things we need to continue to improve on throughout the spring, but I'm pleased with how our guys are working.”
Monday was the first of 14 scheduled practices that will lead into the annual Red-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 16 at 12:30 p.m. Today was the first of three practices for the Terps this week before taking the week of March 14 off for spring break.
Following spring break, practices resume on Tuesday, March 22.
