NACMA Release

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland marketing department has been named a finalist for the 2016 Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOYA), presented by SuperFanU. The winner will be announced during the 25th Annual NACMA Convention, set to take place June 13-16 in Dallas, Texas.

"We all feel fortunate to work for an Athletic Department who supports our creativity and has allowed us to push forward, working together and challenging each other to reach higher and embrace teamwork,” said Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Carrie Blankenship. “The student-athlete experience is at the heart of everything we do and the opportunity to create lasting memories and an amazing experience for them during their time as Terrapins, as well as our loyal fans, is priceless."

Maryland was nominated as a top three finalist for the second year in a row for team of the year, after being named the 2015 NACMA MTOYA. Joining Maryland in the top-three this year is Mississippi State University and the University of Oregon.

“Our team is truly honored and thrilled to be a finalist again this year,” said Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing Lauren Taylor. “I am so proud of how hard each and every one of us worked and dedicated to keep pushing the envelope. We couldn't have done it without the support of many other units and the entire Maryland Athletics family.”

The Maryland Marketing department is also a top-three finalist for the individual award category of "Sales Piece". The piece UMD received the nomination for is a puzzle postcard, sent out promoting men's basketball season tickets. The winner is also announced at the Convention.
