• Head coach Sasho Cirovski began his head coaching career at the Hartford in 1991. In his two seasons with the Hawks, he took the team to back-to-back 13-6-3 records and consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history. Cirovski has won conference championships in three different leagues - North Atlantic, Atlantic Coast and Big Ten.
• After defeating top-seed and host Ohio State last season in Columbus to capture their fourth straight league tournament championship, the Terps will look to make it five in a row in 2016. Maryland has won the Big Ten Tournament title in each of its first two seasons in the conference.
• Maryland tied No. 16 UCLA, 1-1, in its season opener in Carson, Calif. Friday night. Alex Crognale headed home the equalizer in the fifth minute after the Terps surrendered an early goal 1:05 into the match. Maryland utilized 18 players total in its opening match at UCLA Friday night.
• Cody Niedermeier, Cody Albrecht and Alex Crognale will have the honor of repping the captain band this season for the Terps.
• Maryland was picked to win the Big Ten this season, per a poll by the league's coaches released earlier in August. Alex Crognale, Chris Odoi-Atsem and Eryk Williamson were tabbed Players to Watch by the conference.
• Of the 38 goals scored a year ago, 26 were by players returning this season, including a combined 13 from sophomores Eryk Williamson and Sebastian Elney.
