Associate Director ASCDU - Football

The Associate Director within the Academic Support and Career Development Unit (ASCDU) will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Student Development and in close collaboration with the ASCDU Director in the implementation, delivery, and monitoring of academic support services for all football student-athletes. The position is responsible for overseeing progress towards graduation, athletic eligibility, study hall, academic advising, career counseling, and the delivery of appropriate academic support services for football student-athletes. The Associate Director will manage the daily operation of the football academic support area and associated staff located in Gossett Team House facility, and in addition, will oversee the tutorial and learning support services for all football student-athletes. The Associate Director ensures that all football academic support services are operating in accordance with ASCDU policies and procedures and that football academic support staff are working collaboratively and cross-functionally with all ASCDU staff and other University units as appropriate. The Associate Director shares in the advising load of football student-athletes, facilitates course scheduling, monitors academic progress, prepares and maintains written academic reports, meets routinely with the football coaching staff, assists with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes during official and unofficial visits, and performs other duties as assigned.


Master's degree required. At least 5 years of successful, full-time, professional experience in higher education. Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA academic rules and procedures.

At-least 3-5 years of successful, full-time, professional experience in athletic academic advising services of a Division I university or in a Division I Conference setting.

Knowledge of NCAA academic rules and procedures; 
Strong oral and written communication skills including computer literacy;
Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information;
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse populations;
Strong leadership background;
Knowledge of budgets and managing budgets.
