COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's basketball team will travel to Syracuse for the 2017 Big Ten/ACC Challenge as announced today by ESPN.

Maryland and Syracuse have met eight previous times, with the Terps owning a 5-3 edge in the all-time series. The Terps last met the Orange on Feb. 24, 2014 at XFINITY Center when both teams were members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Last season Maryland reached the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive season under head coach Mark Turgeon and won 24 games during the regular season for a third straight year as well. The Terps will return three starters for the 2017-18 campaign – rising sophomores Anthony Cowan, Kevin Huerter and Justin Jackson.

Fifteen teams in this year's Challenge competed in the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship including Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan, Purdue, Wisconsin, Duke, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise all 14 games of the event, matching top college basketball programs playing for conference supremacy and the Commissioner's Cup. All games will also be available to stream via the ESPN app.
