Terps in the NFL: Week 6

Four #ProTerps faced off Sunday at FedExField in Landover, Md. when Vernon Davis and the Washington Redskins hosted the Carolina Panthers and a trio of former Maryland studs.  

Vernon Davis and the Washington Redskins hosted Torrey Smith, DJ Moore and Jermaine Carter Jr. and the Carolina Panthers Sunday as the Redskins won a game that went down to the final drive, taking down the Panthers, 23-17.

Vernon Davis led the Redskins with three receptions for 48 yards and snagged his first touchdown of the season to further establish himself as one of the NFL's all-time great tight ends.  

Panthers WR Torrey Smith caught five receptions totaling 43 yards and a caught a crucial fourth-quarter touchdown catch to contribute to the Panthers comeback efforts. DJ Moore caught four passes for a career-high 59 yards. LB Jermaine Carter Jr. took snaps on defense and special teams.

Elsewhere in the league, Yannick Ngakoue had a solid performance and notched four tackles and two sacks in a losing effort to the Dallas Cowboys.

Stefon Diggs helped the Vikings record to 3-2-1 on the season with a 27-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Diggs caught three receptions for 33 yards.

Quinton Jefferson and the Seahawks bounced back this week to defeat the Raiders after falling just short in last week's loss to the Rams. Jefferson had three tackles and a half a sack. Jefferson and the Seahawks will have a bye week before facing Detroit.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will also head into the bye week coming off a 28-21 victory in Cincinnati. Sean Davis tallied just one tackle for the Steelers but continues to play a vital "stabilizing role" in the Steelers secondary per HC Mike Tomlin. WR Darrius Heyward-Bey missed the game due to an ankle injury.
