Amelia Jarecke comes to Maryland from Lincoln, Neb., where she was four-time letter winner at Lincoln Pius X High School. She was a two-time academic all-state selection and a National Honors Society. Get to know Aamelia Jarecke!
How has your first semester at Maryland gone so far?
I have already started to feel at home here at Maryland. There are so many people that want to help student-athletes to be successful on the field and in the classroom.
How has it been getting to know your teammates?
My teammates and I have a lot of fun together- especially during rap battles.
What is your favorite memory from playing softball?
The games and bus rides with my high school teammates are times I will never forget.
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
My favorite thing about myself is my curiosity. I really enjoy going new places, trying new foods, and meeting new people.
What is the best vacation you have ever been on?
I went to Iceland in the summer. The landscape of that country is amazing. Always go chasing waterfalls.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Avocados
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Explore D.C. or get outdoors
What hobby would you get into if time and money weren't an issue?
I would go backpacking in different countries.
