Terps Earn No. 11 Seed in NCAA Tournament

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland men's soccer team earned the No. 11 seed and a first round bye in the 2018 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament, and will host the winner of NC State/Campbell in the second round on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m., at Ludwig Field.

Boosted by a No. 12 RPI and No. 2 strength of schedule, the Terps (8-6-4) earned a national seed after missing out on a seed and first round bye last season. Maryland played 12 matches this season against teams that made the NCAA Tournament.

The Terrapins have now advanced to the postseason in 18 consecutive years and are making their 38th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Maryland has won three national championships (1868, 2005, 2008) and have reached the round-of-16 in 18 of the last 24 years. Maryland last advanced to the College Cup in 2013.

The 2018 College Cup is set for December 7-9 in Santa Barbara, Calif., at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium.
