COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland continues its six-game home stand Friday when the Terrapins welcome Hofstra to XFINITY Center. The game will tip at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast on BTN Plus. It is the first of two games on the weekend for the Terps, as the team will have a quick turnaround with a Sunday game vs. Mount St. Mary's.

STORYLINES

•  Maryland owns a 4-0 edge in the all-time series between the two schools, with its last win coming on November 29, 2003 in an 87-72 victory at the XFINITY Center.

•  Forward Jalen Smith was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on November 12 after leading Maryland to a pair of victories to open the 2018-19 season. Smith averaged 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 25.0 minutes of action in the wins against Delaware and Navy. Smith is the first Maryland player to claim conference freshman of the week honors in the opening week of the season since Exree Hipp in 1992.

•  Bruno Fernando had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead a balanced attack that carried Maryland past North Carolina A&T 82-59 in the team's last time out on November 12. It was the first double-double of the season for the Luanda, Angola native and the fourth of his career.

•  Bruno Fernando remains one of the most efficient scorers in the Big Ten, ranking fourth in conference in field goal percentage (76.2%) on 16-for-21 shooting through three games. Fernando shot 59.2% from the field last season – good for sixth in the B1G.

•  Five players finished in double figures in the victory over the Aggies, while five players (Cowan Jr., Ayala, Morsell, Wiggins & Lindo Jr.) all finished with at least four assists. It was the first time five different Terps finished with at least four assists in a game since February 9, 2011 when Adrian Bowie, Pe'Shon Howard, Cliff Tucker, Terrell Stoglin and Haukur Palsson all had 4+ in a 106-52 win over Longwood.

•  Freshman Ricky Lindo Jr. put together his most effective game of the season against NC A&T on November 12, finishing with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Only three other Terps since 2011 have recorded at least 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in a game: Dez Wells, Anthony Cowan Jr. and Justin Jackson.

•  Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 24 points, Darryl Morsell added 15 and Maryland used a second-half surge to defeat Navy 78-57 in their road opener on November 9. Cowan's 24 points were three shy of his career-high 27 set last season at Illinois, while he led the Terps in assists (6) and steals (4).
