COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â Maryland plays its second game of the weekend Sunday when the Terps host Mount St. Mary's at XFINITY Center at 4:00 pm. The game will be broadcast on BTN.
STORYLINES
• Maryland is 8-0 in the all-time series between the two schools dating back to 1987. Head coach Mark Turgeon is 2-0 vs. the Mountaineers during his tenure at UMD, including a 80-56 win when the teams last met on November 15, 2015.Â
• Bruno Fernando delivered 17 points and seven rebounds as part of a balanced offense as Maryland defeated Hofstra 80-69 in their last game on Friday, November 16.
• Fernando made all eight of his field goal attempts for the Terrapins (4-0) against the Pride. It was the 12th time in school history a player was perfect from the floor with at least eight attempts and the first since Sean Mosley was 8-of-8 against Longwood in 2010.
• Bruno Fernando remains one of the most efficient scorers in the Big Ten, ranking second in conference in field goal percentage (82.8%) on 24-for-29 shooting through four games. Fernando shot 59.2% from the field last season – good for sixth in the B1G.Â
• Forward Jalen Smith was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on November 12 after leading the Maryland to a pair of victories to open the 2018-19 season. Smith averaged 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 25.0 minutes of action in the wins against Delaware and Navy. Smith is the first Maryland player to claim conference freshman of the week honors in the opening week of the season since Exree Hipp in 1992.
• Bruno Fernando had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead a balanced attack that carried Maryland past North Carolina A&T 82-59 in the team's last time out on November 12. It was the first double-double of the season for the Luanda, Angola native and the fourth of his career.
• Five players finished in double figures in the victory over the Aggies, while five players (Cowan Jr., Ayala, Morsell, Wiggins & Lindo Jr.) all finished with at least four assists. It was the first time five different Terps finished with at least four assists in a game since February 9, 2011 when Adrian Bowie, Pe'Shon Howard, Cliff Tucker, Terrell Stoglin and Haukur Palsson all had 4+ in a 106-52 win over Longwood.
• Freshman Ricky Lindo Jr. put together his most effective game of the season against NC A&T on November 12, finishing with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Only three other Terps since 2011 have recorded at least 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in a game: Dez Wells, Anthony Cowan Jr. and Justin Jackson.  Â
