Commemorative 100th Season “Art of Words” Piece Now Available

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland basketball has unveiled a commemorative 100th season Art of Words original art piece commissioned in celebration of the program's centennial season this year.

The piece features the name of every Maryland basketball student-athlete that appeared on an official roster and head coach since the program's first varsity season in 1910-11. Additionally, the names of Maryland's four home venues – Annapolis Hall, Ritchie Coliseum, Cole Field House and XFINITY Center – are all included. The piece took over 100 hours to complete, and the original artwork created by Art of Words will be available for auction.

The first 10,000 fans that attend Maryland's game vs. Virginia on Wednesday, November 28 will receive a free print of the artwork courtesy of Ledo Pizza. Tickets for the game are still available. Fans can also purchase the art online via artofwords.com.

An enlarged version of the artwork will be permanently installed in the XFINITY Center concourse this season.
