STORYLINES
• Maryland and Virginia will resume one of college basketball's longest all-time series when the teams meet Wednesday, dating back to the first-ever meeting in 1912-13. Maryland owns a 107-75 edge in the all-time series, and will face UVA for the second time in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
• Maryland debuted in the Associated Press Top-25 on November 26, checking in at No. 24 after starting the season 6-0. The Terps received votes in the previous three polls this season, and are back in the AP Top-25 for the first time since being voted the No. 25 team in the country on March 6, 2017.
• Maryland's last win over a team ranked in the top-5 came on January 28, 2016 when the Terrapins defeated No. 3 Iowa 74-68 at the XFINITY Center. Robert Carter Jr. and Rasheed Sulaimon each scored 17 points for the then-eighth ranked Terrapins in the victory.
• Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 26 points, Bruno Fernando had 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Maryland cruised past previously unbeaten Marshall 104-67 in their most complete performance of the year on November 23. The 16 boards tied Fernando's career-high, while he's posted a career-high four blocks in back-to-back games.
• Cowan became the first Terp to finish with at least 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists since Greivis Vasquez finished with 41/7/6 in a 104-100 double overtime victory at Virginia Tech on February 27, 2010.
• Maryland has now started 6-0 for the fourth time under Head Coach Mark Turgeon. Maryland is 32-3 in the month of November under Turgeon since the 2014-15 season and 45-9 overall in November games during Turgeon's tenure.
• Bruno Fernando has established himself as one of the country's most efficient scorers this year, shooting 77.4% from the floor (41-of-53) through the opening month of the season. Fernando's 77.4% shooting clip is the top mark in the Big Ten and ranks inside the top-five nationally, while his 16.2 points per game rank inside the top-15 in the conference. Fernando shot 59.2% from the field last season – good for sixth in the B1G.
