COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â Michigan State topped Maryland, 24-3, Saturday afternoon at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
With the loss, Maryland falls to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in Big Ten play.Â
Michigan State (6-3, 4-2 B1G) was led by Connor Heyward's pair of touchdown runs.
Freshman kicker
Joseph Petrino connected on a 23-yard field goal for the Terps' lone score.
Tre Watson led the Terps with 13 tackles. He's posted double figure tackles in six of his last seven games.
RaVon Davis and
Byron Cowart each had an interception for the Terps defense, which now has 16 on the year, the most for a Maryland defense since 2002 (18).Â
The Terps are back in action next Saturday at Indiana.Â
