The Assistant Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Development will provide program leadership, management, and coordination concerning student-athlete development initiatives to enhance individual growth and leadership skills for student-athletes. This position is designed to supervise all student-athlete development staff; develop, implement and evaluate all personal, career and leadership program initiatives; accurately monitor unit budget; ensure appropriateness of charges and expenses within program; keep staff and relevant partners well informed of program funds and expenditures on a timely basis; serve as Chair of the Student-Athlete Development Team; create and deliver the TERP 101 summer and fall curriculum; develop and implement a communication plan to educate student-athletes, coaches and staff about available resources, services and events; oversee the creation and direction of the Gossett Fellows program and serve as the Advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
- Master's degree required in higher education, sports management, student affairs or related field.
Experience:
- At least five (5) years in student development in a NCAA Division I program with one (1) to (3) years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a first-year transition curriculum and advising student groups.
- Knowledge of, and/or experience assessing current and future project expenses, making appropriate expense projections, purchasing recommendations/decisions, budget recommendations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives for effective student-athlete personal and professional preparation.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, and complete assignments on time.
- The ability to work collaboratively and to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with coaches, student-athletes, staff, university and external constituents.
- The ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and problem-solving techniques.
Preferences:
- Demonstrated experience with the creation of educational resources for student-athletes;
- Knowledge of NCAA and Big 10 Conference rules and regulations governing student-athlete.
- Demonstrated experience using social media to support educational and outreach initiatives.Â
