Kiawah Island, S.C. - The Maryland men's golf team finished third out of 14 teams at the Invitational at the Ocean Course Monday at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, S.C. The tournament has concluded through 36 holes due to the impending threat of Hurricane Florence.

As a team, the Terrapins went eight strokes over par with a score of 584 (294-290). Tournament hosts College of Charleston won the event in a playoff with SMU. Both teams finished 36 holes with a one-over-par team score of 577. 

Junior Peter Knade led the Terps with his score of 143 (70-73), which was one under par. He finished the tournament tied for third individually after sitting atop the leaderboard concluding his two-under-par first round.

Christian Park and Timothy Colanta both shot even-par 72s Monday. Park brought his two-day total to 146, which was +2 and good for a tie for 10th on the individual leaderboard, while Colanta brought his 36-hole total to 147 (+3) and landed tied for 17th individually.

Evan Santa shot a one-over-par 73 today to bring his score to 148 (+4) and finished tied for 24th on the individual scoreboard. Dillon Brown finished with a 151 (75-76), which was +7, and tied for 28th individually. Chris Lane finished with a 155 (78-77), which was +11, and finished tied for 49th individually.

Next, the Terps return to the links at the Janney VCU Shootout on Sept. 17-18.
