COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Junior
Peter Knade of the Maryland men's golf team was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week for the second time in his career, the league announced Wednesday.
Knade finished third individually and led the Terps to a third-place team finish at the Ocean Course Invitational this past weekend in Kiawah Island, S.C., which was the best finish of his career at Maryland. He shot a two-under-par 70 in the first round which vaulted him to the top of the leaderboard and shot a one-over-par 73 which landed him third among individuals.
Knade last won Big Ten Golfer of the Week in the fall of 2017 after tying for sixth individually at the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate with a score of 212 (72-70-70), which was four under. Knade was also awarded Big Ten Preseason honors in mid-August, along with teammates
Evan Santa and
Timothy Colanta.
Next, Knade and the Terps travel to Richmond, Va. to compete in the Janney VCU Shootout Sept. 17-18.
