KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Maryland women's golf team finished the second round in the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate Monday at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.Â
As a team, the Terps went 12 over par in the second round for a team score of 296. The team shot a 292 (+8) in the first round. They're currently ranked third out of 17 teams.
Sophomore
Charlotte Lafourcade shot the low round of the day for the Terps with an one-over-par 72, placing her tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard and four over through two rounds. Fellow sophomore
Virunpat Olankitkunchai shot a four-over-par 75 after shooting a 72 (+1) in the first round, placing her tied for 12th and five-over through two rounds.
Junior
Xiaolin Tian is currently tied for 16th after shooting a 75 (+4) in the first round and a 73 (+2) in the second. Senior
Ludovica Farina shot a first-round 73 (+2) and a second-round 76 (+5), which places her tied for 21st. Freshman
Elena Verticchio is currently tied for 55th with a total score of 154 (73-81). Sophomore
Laura Van Respaille has a 184 through two rounds.Â
The Terrapins are competing against hosts Tennessee, Charlotte, Kent State, Middle Tennessee, Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, USA, Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Coastal Carolina, UCF, Ole Miss, Chattanooga, BYU, South Dakota State and Iowa.
The Terps placed 14th of 19 teams when they last played at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, South Carolina. Senior
Ludovica Farina led the way for Maryland with her two-over 146 (74-72). She finished 36th on the individual leaderboard. The Terps tee off tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. for the third and final round.
