ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Maryland track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Michigan Invitational, the team's second meet of the indoor season. The Terps competed against Big Ten opposition in Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State.

Highlights

In the men's 400m dash, Kameron Jones finished 2^nd with a 48.04.

Transfer Destiny Ward made her Terp debut in the women's 200m dash, finishing 6^th with a 24.87.
Jewel Smith finished in 5^th place after a 5.69m jump in the women's long jump. Leah Blackall took 4^th place in the women's triple jump, jumping 12.11m.

In the men's triple jump, Carlos Vanzego took 3^rd, jumping 14.14m.

Women
Freshman Jaida Smith finished 7^th in the 60m dash with a 7.69 and 9^th in the 200m dash with a 25.40. Imani Gray finished 10^th in the 200m dash running in 25.42.

Sophomore Cheyenne Jones finished the 400m dash in 57.03, good for 5^th place. Thaila Cooper took 11^th in the same event with a time of 58.80. Freshman Mackenzie Morgan took 8^th in the 800m run, finishing with a time of 2:15.97.

Sophomore Christine Laurie placed 19^th in the mile run with a time of 5:06.13. Paige Novak finished the mile in 5:18.42, landing her in 21^st, and Yasmine Kass finished in 5:28.80, putting her in 22^nd. In the women's 3000m, Kathryn Gearhart ran a 10:13.47, good for 17^th place.

The women's 400m relay team consisting of Thaila Cooper, Venida Fagan, Cheyenne Jones and Nadia Hackett took 9^th place, finishing in 3:54.23.

In the shot put, Kamryn Henderson finished 14^th with a 12.26m throw. Henderson also landed in 15^th place in the weight throw with a 14.20m throw. Bayli Smith took 9^th in the weight throw with a 17.00m throw.

Men
In the 60m dash, freshman Cameron Vereen took 6^th with a 6.93.

In the 600m dash, Hazem Miawad ran a fourth-place 1:21.07. TJ Bleichner ran the 800m in 2:01.26 and finished in 12^th. Teammate Ryan Scott finished right behind him in 13^th with a 2:02.44. Aaron Barlev took 12^th in the 3000m, finishing in 8:36.10.

Greg Thompson finished 13^th in the shot put with a 15.26m throw.
