Today's featured player is Anthony Cowan Jr. from Bowie, Md. Here's five burning questions with Anthony!  

How have you grown as a leader in your time at Maryland? 

"I think I've matured. I think I've really understood the real meaning of leadership and it's not all about saying it, it's also about doing it and leading by your actions."

What has been your advice to the freshmen and younger players heading into the season?  

"Just focus. It's a lot easier said than done, but if you try to tap into that mental mindset where you're just focused and locked in and your whole goal is on winning, then I think you're in the right place."

What drives you as a competitor? 

"Just always having that winning mindset, not wanting to come in second. I think that's the biggest thing."

What is the favorite play of your Maryland career so far? 

"Definitely the game-winner against Wisconsin. I think we were down two, Bruno made a move and kicked it out, passed it to Aaron, Aaron gave it to me, Turgeon is screaming 'clear out', and I made my way top of the key and made the shot."

Who would be your dream 1-on-1 matchup if you could pick anyone and why? 

"Allen Iverson. He's a dog. I think our mentalities are somewhat similar and I would like to see us just go at it. It'd be very physical, lot of trash talking, just an overall fun and competitive game."
