COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 6 Maryland men's basketball team looks to jump out to a 5-0 record for the sixth straight season as it hosts George Mason in College Park Friday at 7:00 pm.

STORYLINES
• The Terps have won each of their first four games by double-digits for the first time since the 2009-10 season, when they would go on to claim a share of the ACC regular season championship. If Maryland extends the streak to five games with a double-digit win over Mason, it would mark the longest such stretch since the 1998-99 season.

• Maryland and George Mason are set to meet for the ninth time in history, with the Terps winning all eight previous meetings. The teams last met in 2012 at the BB&T Classic in Washington, D.C., as Dez Wells poured in 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting. The matchup is also a homecoming for Mason assistant coach Duane Simpkins, who was a three-time All-ACC selection at Maryland from 1992-96 and ranks seventh all-time in assists (483).

• The Terrapins moved to 4-0 with a 74-55 victory over Fairfield Tuesday, as sophomore Jalen Smith led the way with 17 points and eight boards. Maryland displayed its remarkable depth in the game, with nine different players scoring in the first half.

• Maryland is currently turning the ball over just 11.5 times/g through the first four games, which ranks third in the Big Ten Conference. It also leads the conference with a +5.3 turnover margin. It's a positive trend for the Terps, which ranked 14th in the Big Ten with a -3.6 turnover margin last season. Senior Anthony Cowan Jr. has led the way with 22 assists against just seven turnovers so far.

• Maryland is 44-4 in non-conference home games at the XFINITY Center in the past 5+ seasons. The Terps are 34-6 overall at home over the last 2+ seasons.

• Senior Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 12 points against Fairfield to move past James Gist (2004-2008) for 20th all-time in scoring at Maryland with 1,424 points. Cowan is one of three players in program history with 1,400 points and 450 assists (Greivis Vasquez, John Lucas).
