COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland football team will play its final game of the season on Saturday when the Terps travel to Michigan State. The contest is set for a 3:30 pm kick and will be broadcast on FS1 and the Maryland Sports Radio Network.

THIS WEEKEND'S STORYLINES

1. With a WR DJ Turner 40-yard punt return touchdown in Week One vs. Howard and two RB Javon Leake kickoff return touchdowns (100 yards at Rutgers & 97 yards vs. #14 Michigan), Maryland is one of only two power five teams (UCLA) with both a kickoff and punt return touchdown this season. Maryland leads the Big Ten in punt return average (13.50) and is fourth in kick return average (22.56), standing top-40 in the country in both categories.

2. RB Javon Leake has starred on special teams in his career, currently standing tied with WR Torrey Smith ('10) for the most kick return touchdowns in Maryland history with three. This season, Leake has two kickoff return touchdowns, a 100-yard spurt at Rutgers and a 97-yard house call vs. #14 Michigan, tying the Maryland single-season record with four other players (Torrey Smith ('09), Richard Jennings ('75), Dennis Condie ('60) & Stefon Diggs ('12)) and giving him a hold of the FBS lead with three other players. After a career-best 164 kick return yards in Maryland's last game at #1 Ohio State, Leake now has 1,467 kick return yards in his career, the sixth-most in program history, only five yards behind Stefon Diggs to move into the top-five. The junior's 784 kick return yards are the third most in the country and his 27.0 yards per return is the second best in the Big Ten and 14th highest total in the country.

3. RB Javon Leake is averaging 7.78 yards per carry this season (716 yards on 92 carries), the second-highest total in the country among power-five backs with over 60 carries, trailing only Travis Etienne of #3 Clemson. At this pace, Leake would record the third-highest yards per carry over a season in program history, trailing only Chet Hanulak's 1953 season and Ty Johnson's 2016 season. The 7.8 yards per carry would  be the most ever by a Terrapin junior.

4. Maryland RBs Javon Leake and Anthony McFarland Jr. have combined for 15 rushing touchdowns this season (Leake: eight; McFarland: seven), making the Terps one of only 10 teams in the country (Army, Boston College, Central Michigan, FAU, FIU, Fresno State, Louisiana, Navy & Ohio) and one of only two power five teams (Boston College) to have two running backs with seven TDs this season. It is the first time the Terps have had a RB pair both have seven touchdowns in a season since Keon Lattimore had 13 and Lance Ball had 12 in 2007.

5. S Antoine Brooks Jr. has totaled 65 solo tackles this year, the most per game in the Big Ten and the ninth highest total in the country. Brooks has at least five solo tackles in nine of 11 games this season and tallied a career-best 13, all solo, at Temple (9/14). Last week on Senior Day vs. Nebraska, Brooks notched nine tackles (six solo) including one for loss.
