LINCOLN, Neb. --Â Â The Maryland softball team lost the series finale to Nebraska Sunday, falling to the Huskers, 9-1 in six innings.
After going without a hit the previous two games, JoJo McRae notched a pair today, a double in her second at-bat and a single in her next. Amanda Brashear, Taylor Wilson and Bailey Boyd each delivered hits in the Sunday matchup.
The Terps turned two double plays on the day, erasing a runner on a 6-4-3 double play in the third, and another in the fifth in which Taylor Wilson snagged a line drive and got the force out at first.
Maryland's lone run of the game came on an Anna Kufta sacrifice fly in the third to score McRae.
Sydney Golden started in the circle for the Terps and was credited with the loss. Sami Main pitched 4.0 innings in relief, allowing just two hits but letting up the game-winning home run.
Maryland will face Michigan next weekend for the final Big Ten series of the season and will honor seniors Sydney Golden, Sami Main and Bailey Boyd.
