Maryland to Face Clemson and Pitt in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland Softball will travel to Clemson, S.C. to face Clemson and Pitt in the 2020 Big Ten/ACC Softball Challenge, the conference office announced on Tuesday. It marks the first time Maryland will participate in the event, which began in 2016.

The Terrapins will play each team twice. Michigan State will also represent the Big Ten in Clemson to play against Clemson and Pitt. Maryland is 7-2 all-time against Pitt. Clemson will be playing its inaugural year of softball as a varsity sport.

The fifth annual event will feature 10 schools from each conference, with each program playing four games each at four campus sites, while 2019 NCAA Women's College World Series participant Minnesota and NCAA Regional Champion Northwestern compete at the second annual ESPN St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational in Clearwater, Fla., from Feb. 13-16, 2020.
