COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland men's and women's basketball teams, both among the top-10 nationally in preseason polls, will host a series of events this fall in advance of their respective 2019-20 seasons.

The men's basketball team will be signing autographs before the football game vs. Penn State on Sept. 27 from 6:30 to 7:15 pm on the west concourse of Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. Fans must have a ticket to the Penn State game to enter the stadium.
 
Also among the events scheduled is the "Midnight Mile," which made its triumphant return in 2018 after debuting as college basketball's original "Midnight Madness" in 1971 under Hall of Fame men's basketball coach Lefty Driesell.
 
Last year's edition of the "Midnight Mile" saw more than 500 students join the men's basketball team in a mile run around Kehoe Track as the clock struck midnight to commence the start of the 2018-19 season.

The event is open to all fans to watch, while Maryland students are eligible to run upon presentation of student ID at registration. Registered students will receive a commemorative Midnight Mile race bib, Midnight Mile t-shirt (first 500), pizza and multiple photo opportunities with the basketball team. Students will also have a chance to enter-to-win a raffle to join the men's team for an away trip this season. 
 
Gates will open at 11:15 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 9 at the Kehoe Track & Field Complex.

The Maryland women's basketball team, ranked in the top-5 of ESPN's latest national poll, will host its open practice for fans on Sunday, Oct. 20. Practice will begin at 10 a.m., with head coach Brenda Frese mic'd up from 11:30-12:30. The Terrapins will sign autographs on the court and answer questions in a Q&A session afterwards. Fans can take their picture with the Terrapins' Big Ten championship trophy.
 
The Maryland men's basketball team, also ranked in the top-5 of multiple national preseason polls, will also host an open practice for fans on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Head coach Mark Turgeon will be mic'd up for fans throughout the practice, before a Q&A and autograph session afterwards. Fans will have the opportunity to win various gameday experiences, as well.
