KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Maryland women's golf team is currently in fourth out of 16 teams competing after two rounds at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship Monday at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.

The Terps are nine strokes over par as a team with a score of 577 (292-285).

Junior
Charlotte Lafourcade, competing as an individual, is tied for 10
th in the standings with her even score of 142. She went one stroke over par in the first round with a 72 and got the stroke back when she went two under in the second round with a 70.

Junior
Laura Van Respaille is tied for 15
th with her score of 143, which is one stroke over. She shot a 70 in the first round and 73 in the second.

Junior
Virunpat Olankitkunchai is in 19
th after going two strokes over through the first 36 holes. She shot a 75 in the first round, then improved her score of by six strokes to a 69 in the second round. She is +2 overall.

Senior
Xiaolin Tian is five strokes over with her score of 147 (75-72). She is tied for 34
th.

Freshman
Maria Vittoria Corbi is tied for 38
th in the standings. She shot a 72 in the first round and a 76 in the second for a score of 148.

In her first collegiate tournament, freshman
Angela Garvin shot an 83 in her first round, then improved her score to shoot an even 71 in the second.

The Terrapins are competing against No. 10 Kent State, Middle Tennessee, Augusta, Memphis, LSU, Charlotte, UTSA, Mercer, Tulane, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Chattanooga, Southern Mississippi, South Dakota State and tournament host No. 40 Tennessee.

This is Maryland's fifth straight year competing in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship. Last year, the Terps finished tied for ninth out of 17 teams and Lafourcade finished in the top 10.
