COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior guard Anthony Cowan Jr. was named a preseason Second Team All-American and First Team all-Big selection via Blue Ribbon Yearbook heading into the 2019-20 season.
A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Cowan Jr. is one of six players in program history with 1,300 points and 400 assists and has started all 99 games since stepping foot in College Park. He currently ranks 23rd in program history in points (1,376) and t-10th in career assists (437).
Cowan is just the sixth player in Maryland history to record at least 1300 points and 400 assists in a career, joining John Lucas, Walt Williams, Johnny Rhodes, Greivis Vasquez and Trimble.
Cowan led the Terps in scoring for the second straight season last year ranking ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game. The Bowie, Md., native also led the Terps in assists, averaging 4.4 per game.
