Our year is almost complete. June 30 will mark the end of the Terrapin Club fiscal year and my term as President. What a year it has been! Through all the ups and downs, we have weathered several storms and will come out of this year stronger, more energized, and laser-focused on our purpose - funding scholarships for student-athletes.
The money raised by Terrapin Club members is used to support 500+ student-athletes each year. What an incredible mission. These hardworking student-athletes have accomplished so much and will continue to do so in the future. They make us proud to be Terps and together we are doing a great thing by supporting their educational and athletic endeavors.
Congratulations to our graduating student-athletes - 97 graduated from our fall and spring commencements! We had 31 different majors represented and we are proud of our 277 Academic All-Big Ten Selections. To top it off, a university-record 11 teams posted a perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate this year.
The successes also came on the playing field. Although the winter and spring seasons were cut short, our Terps garnered accolades that will make us proud for years to come. Who could forget our Men's and Women's Basketball teams winning three conference championships in the span of eight days? Our Field Hockey team continued to be excellent by capturing their sixth Big Ten Championship and countless other teams were on track to have incredible seasons.
None of this would be possible without the support of Terrapin Club members like us.
Thank you to our entire Board of Directors, committee members, and amazing professional staff. I am excited to turn the reins over to Chuck Rosenfield as we are thrilled about what we were able to accomplish this year and this is just the beginning. We will continue our Terps 10,000 campaign aimed at growing the membership base and we will continue to strive for greatness in all that we do. As we journey into summer and start planning for the fall, be on the lookout for new and exciting bene ts exclusively offered to Terrapin Club members.
